Do you actually need a website in 2024?
I know there are plenty of ways to share and sell online and offline. Maybe you sell from a physical location and don’t need an online store. You can sell directly through most social media platforms now, so is it really necessary?

Absolutely.
YES ‼️

I see so many business owners rely on social media, but let me tell you this: You don’t own your social media following. So, if all of your content and your whole business is on social media, if it were to go down (like it has a few times), you’d be out of luck. If it were to get hacked (which it does more often than not) – all that content? Gone. If it were to be closed down – all your hard work? Gone.

There are more reasons to build a website, but this one seems to always surprise people so I really wanted to put this one out here. You can’t control a third-party social platform, but you can control a website. All your leads should go back to your website.

Check out 5 reasons why your business needs a website

1. Your customers expect it

Everyone is online at the moment and your customers are searching for your services. They are on the internet researching businesses, looking for reviews and finding reasons to choose your business over your competitor’s. It is common for people to look up a company online before making a decision about where they should go to purchase products or services.

2. It is yours

Relying on social media or your Google profile is building your home on rented land and it can be taken away. Social media networks aren’t yours and you’re at the mercy of the algorithm in terms of being seen by your potential clients, plus your account can get shut down which means you lose all the work you did. Also, it’s really hard to search for a service or business on a platform like Facebook unless you know the business by name (which a lot of people don’t).

3. It adds credibility

Having a website can help your business grow. Your website serves as a platform to build your credibility and boost consumer confidence in your offers. In today’s digital world, consumers will go online to research before making a purchase decision. If you don’t have a website, it may send the wrong signals that you are not professional and credible enough for them to do business with you.

4. Reaches a wider audience

The internet is available everywhere, which means if your customers are online, they can find you. It’s just that simple. Think about it: how often do you check a store’s website before visiting them in person? The internet has become an essential part of our daily lives and it will only continue to grow in importance as time goes on.

5. Increase sales and revenue

Having a well designed, professional looking website can increase the sales of your business. It is easier for them to navigate through your site, understand what you’re selling and how they can purchase it. Your potential customers will first see what’s on offer before they buy, making sure they know exactly what they want when they walk into the store or place an order by phone.

You may think you don’t need a website to run your business, but if you’re not online, you’re missing out on lots of opportunities and revenue.
